Be careful what you wish for

Be really careful what you wish for
as it may indeed come true.
When drunk next time, don’t flirt with girls or
they may fall in love with you.

Although, like me, they initially
may tell you to just dream on
and that’s about all, yet then slowly
turn to infatuation.

Ironically, now you’re telling me
to dream on and that’s about
all that could between us ever be,
turning my wishes to naught.

You still haven’t answered my question
and that only proves me right
that you have no relevant reason
to refuse me a date night.

You can’t tell why you didn’t want me
to even become a friend,
thus scattering my hopes to debris
with this fling’s premature end.

So be careful what wishes you make,
lest they actually come true.
I wish I had no heart you can break,
no romance desires, too.

Now I wish and pray to God that I
never fall in love again
and that I get rid of and defy
all temptations about men.
