Grill time
A couple days after I saw you at the bus stop
on my way from work, on my another way therefrom,
as I was walking along the canal towards home
I was looking at the poor hens outside of their coop
that your folks used to keep in one of your gardens there.
I always pitied those sad creatures that they had to
live on the barren, hard ground without an access to
free grazing on grass growing pretty much everywhere
outside of their fence. Then I noticed that you also
have rabbits in the coop, which surprised me pleasantly
as I like rabbits, and I expressed so audibly.
Then I spotted from the corner of my eye you, beau,
just coming out of a toolshed on the other side
behind me. Promptly a though passed through my mind if I
should stop and go back to you to at least tell you hi
and perhaps talk — if you wouldn’t again from me hide —
about how I intended to go see the running
competition organised, as usual, on the first
Wednesday of the month to cheer on you to run your best,
but couldn’t since I had fallen sick that week, having
a very sore throat and nearly lost voice. (I stopped by
there the next month in hope to talk to you, but did not
see you there then.) But then I thought it better to not
disturb you from grilling with your family, as I
later found out from your Instagram story. Also,
I wanted to appear indifferent to show you that
I am not a person who’d want to approach you at
any cost and you needn’t fear me. So I did go
on my way. But on that occasion I found out too
that you had blocked my personal profile from seeing
your stories without an explanation or warning,
leading me to question if indeed I, in men’s view,
am really such an awful person when they always
start avoiding me as soon as I show affection
for them, which was vouched when you blocked me, in addition,
there entirely not long thereafter, in couple days.
