If only I could
just one more time,
meet you at some local dance
and that not merely by chance,
look into your dazzling eyes,
bright blue like summer morn skies,
clasp hands warmly, fingers laced,
grab each other around waist,
together swirl round and round
to the sweet musical sound,
your body pressed against mine,
both our faces smiling shine.

If only I could
at least one time,
your manly forearms caress,
then in your embrace immerse
myself and hug you tight back
or just hang around your neck;
run my fingers through your hair
black and shower you with care;
passionately taste your lips,
placing your hands on my hips,
fondly whisper in your ear:
“To me you are very dear!”

If only I could
more than one time,
go with you for a long walk,
cycling or skating and talk,
discuss your brave travelling;
in summer heat go swimming
in the famous district lakes;
to make you smile, stroke your cheeks;
explore new locations and
hike in the woods hand in hand;
watch the sunset together,
likewise withstand all weather.

If only I could
another time,
lay in grass counting the stars
next to you, Venus and Mars,
cuddle up and fall asleep
on your chest, dreams safe and deep;
come to cheer you at races,
then reward you with kisses,
pore over all your medals
and celebrate your records;
get a chance to make amends
for any wrongs and offense.
