Plain Jane
In a fake world of virtual reality
full of images of stages ease and happiness
and artificial intelligence and beauty,
most people do misinterpret as craziness
when you’re just being authentic and genuine.
Deep and honest love for life is not in fashion
anymore. Instead, what is now preferred and in
is temporary superficial attraction
that provides only instant (visual) pleasure.
If you don’t have perfect skin and big boot or bust,
don’t wear a ton of make-up even in leisure,
put up duck face selfies thinking it’s so Venust,
embellished through filters, show off your naked butt
in tiny tango swimsuit when at swimming pool
and cleavage so deep it reveals the tattoo art
between your boobs where the chest bone ends, making drool
all following men, or wear the tightest sportsuits
while working out at the gym (or so pretending);
when you’re just a normal girl, not one of the touts
and online harlots ever attention seeking,
people don’t even notice you. Then you’re thinking
there must be something wrong with you when as a femme
you’re alien to that, while not realising
that instead, in fact, there’s everything wrong with them.
