Requiem

I’ve just heard about your loss. Oh, dear!
Here are my condolences sincere.
I’m genuinely sorry for you
and for what you now have to go through.
Somehow I wanna cry in your stead
though I didn’t even know your dad,
and I wish you’d let me support you
in these hard times, being the one to
whom you could tell stories about him,
both the good ones and the ones that seem
to be less happy, filled with worry,
so that way you’d keep his memory
still alive. But all I now can and
will indeed do is to pray even
more for his soul as well as for yours
and all your family members’ souls,
so that you eventually even
may all once reconcile in heaven.
