What makes a poet

Love never reciprocated. Torrents of tears.
Heart pierced and broken over and over again.
Too big, too strong, too deep, too many a feeling.

Hopeless solitude filled with desperate self-loathing.
All the hard efforts always expended in vain.
Lonely losing to internal demons and fears.

Chest and soul cumbered with unrelenting pressure.
Bearing the weight of hapless life on the shoulder.
Genuine sadness for all the nice moments lost.
Acutely missing what made one happy the most.
Melancholic longing for past experience.
Dread of the dark future and further existence.
Shame of (lest it gets mocked) revealing one’s face true.
Having so much to say but no one to speak to.
