Why do I keep coming here?

Why do I keep spending holidays here
even though I’m only belittled and
for not living up to their standards and
will chastised and treated like a child here?

Well, because despite that here at least I
find multiple distractions like walking
the dog, sunbathing on the pool, playing
sporadic games with neighbours or with my

nephews spending time, besides reading lots,
unlike staying in a hot and dark flat
with nothing to do but dwell on, at that,
my equally dark if not darker thoughts.
